Jack in the Pulpit Arisaema triphyllum Bulbs

Jack in the pulpit is easy to grow! Great for beginners, and those who love unique flowers.

Unlike many wildflowers that make a beautiful but brief spring appearance, the perennial Jack-in-the-pulpit, Arisaema triphyllum, appears later in April and continues to add interest to moist woodlands until late fall.

Color: Greenish Yellow sometimes darker

Water Requirement: High

Poisonous: The plant’s leaves, berries, and corms contain calcium oxalate, which is a chemical compound that takes the form of tiny crystalline structures. DO NOT INGEST

Soil Depth: Light covering of soil above bulbs, no more than an inch

Spacing: 6 to 12 inches apart

Soil pH: Prefers slightly acidic soils

Mature Size: 12 to 24 inches

Poison Symptoms:

CAUSES SEVERE PAIN IN THE MOUTH IF EATEN! Poisonous through ingestion. (Poisonous parts: all parts). Symptoms may include: Irritation and swelling of lips, tongue, and throat, excessive drooling, and vomiting (not horses). [For example, the roots contain calcium oxalate (same chemical as in Diffenbachia or dumb cane) and are poisonous.]

These are not full grown plants. They are bulbs / root systems to be planted, that will grow into the plants pictured.

Bulbs are often shipped dormant and can take anywhere from 1 month to the next growing season to sprout. If you wish to see a quicker turnaround, I suggest buying a plant that is already growing.
