Garden State Bulb Pharaoh’s Mask Elephant Ear Bulbs are sourced from our farms and growers in the US. They are about 7 to 9 inches in circumference and carefully hand-picked and checked for quality before shipment. This leafy plant is a breathtaking, mystical addition to any garden or landscape. Featuring large, clumping, heart-shaped leaves with black, raised veins, you’ve never seen anything like it. This variety of elephant ear looks lovely planted in gardens, borders, containers or by water features. Pharaoh’s Mask grows to 4-5 feet tall when mature, is resistant to deer, and is known for the 3D effect of its unique leaves.

Planting Instructions:

1. Before planting, outside temperature needs to be at a minimum of 45°F at night and 70°F in daytime.

2. Choose a location with well-drained soil. Loosen soil prior to planting.

3. Dig a hole in loosened soil 2 to 4 times the size of the bulb (about 6″ deep). Place bulb with the blunt side facing down and any sprouts facing up.

4. Plant Elephant ear bulbs so the top of the bulb is about 1-2″ below the soil surface and each bulb about 12-24″ apart.

5. Cover with soil and water well so that the soil above the bulbs settles. Keep soil moist during periods of dry weather but do not overwater.

*Elephant Ears will start growing once the soil temperature reaches 65°F or warmer. In cooler climates (zones 3-8), Elephant ears will grow as an annual.
