I have to point out, Deathloop isnt the first game to tell a story. In fact, I think it’s the first game with a story that is as good as it is. The only other game with a story I have played is Portal, and the story that is in that game is very unique. You need to know that your will to survive is what is important to the story.
Deathloop takes the formula of the first two games and mixes it with the third to create something that is unique and completely new. I’m not sure if this is a good thing for the game or not, but it makes the game feel fresh and exciting, and it makes that very good. I think the game could have done without the story, because its not really about the player, it’s about the game.
